Daredevil
Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner
Can you believe it-- I got to this movie without making through with all those other 'super'hero'-movies such as "Superman" and "Spiderman" (Is there even a difference between the two!?!). I don't know why, it might have been the fact that Ben Affleck was in the main role and I, like any other girl out there, just happen to think he's cute! Anyway, the movie really wasn't all that 'superficial', Ben Afflect played his part perfectly with being the 'tough-smart and soft superhero', in between all this finding the 'love of his life' though not so ever-lasting(?) Ben Affleck is also playing blind in this movie, which surprisingly enough make the scenes a lot more interesting. The vulnerable-hero-image I just totally fall for!
Fight Club
Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, Helena Bonham Carter
It's freaky how influenced I can get by movies sometimes. Don't ask why, but after watching this movie I just got this 'urge' for kick-boxing! Not to mention, 3 months later I got a punching-bag set in my mail! Well anyway, I'm losing my point.. I love this movie, I believe it's one of the best ones I've seen in a while. In theory this movie works the best when watching it once only, because it has that 'surprising ending' that I gotta admit I had to watch twice to understand though.. The movie is funny but at the same time dramatic, sarcastic but at the same time serious. Playing the 'bad guy' influencing the somewhat 'nice guy', you have Brad Pitt playing more or less the part of himself. This is about a guy's stressful life, sleepless nights and his desperation of finding a peace of mind. In the middle of all this, he meets his "soulmate" (Brad Pitt!), and gets his life turned upsite down. He teaches him a totally different life-style that is rather dangerous but in a way, gives him back his freedom. But in the 'freakiness' of all this, there is deeper meanings and messages about life that has a lot more to it. It's not so much about fighting really, it's more about waking up and realize just what your life looks like, how to doubt your daily-rutine and make it look like a 'crime', sort of a 'wake-up-call' to get your life back on track and this time LIVE IT. Even if it may not be such a good idea to let go off the car-wheal and push down the gass-pedal on full speed in order to "let go" off the control that we in reality don't have any control over (now a car may be the wrong example of this; you gotta read between the lines.) This movie is psychological, deep and entertaining. That's really all there is to say. Thumbs up!
Good Will Hunting
Matt Demon, Ben Affleck, Robbin Williams
This movie is about a Mathematic-genius not living up to his expectations tempting to waste away his talent, life if you want. Yet this movie has its own plot, its own meaning and psychological depths that not 'any other movie' has. This is about a boy finding his own way, getting his life back on track, all from the help of himself and his psychiatrist. And his 'destiny' whatsoever, is not to be his 'destiny' unless he truly wants it. And not to mention, Matt Demon and Ben Affleck wrote the whole entire scripth of this film! I gotta say.. not bad!
Gothika
Halle Berry, Robert Downey, Charles Dutton
I can't remember the last time I'd fall off the couch like that. What can I say.. this movie is DYING CREEPY! My friends and I was literally crawling in bed after it.. (Under the cover, covering up all 'holes' to reality.) It's not very often I get scared by thrillers, because I many times find these movies superficial, and I'd usually put them under the title "Comedies" instead. However, this movie had more to it, the actors played a great role, the ending is rather hard to guess, and the movie itself has a great structure. As the main character, Halle Berry is here playing the role of working at a psychiatry-hospital and one day waking up to being the patient there. A drama movie about death and the truth about people's lives and deaths own 'destiny', whatever that means. A movie definitely worth watching, but do yourself a favour.. DO NOT watch it alone!
Beyond Borders
Angelina Jolie, Clive Owen
"WOW"-- that's really all I could say after watching this almost 3-hours' long movie that could last for another 3 hours and I seriously wouldn't mind. All throughout this movie I was waiting for the little 'breakdown' that was to ruin the whole plot but not this time.. the movie was ANNOYING PERFECT; extremely emotional and deep and well.. heart-broken. Here Angelina Jolie is leaving her husband with their kids to help the cause of the lost children and war-torn nations. As in any other movie, she falls in love and it creates the most romantic and heart-broken scenes you'll ever see in a movie. Truthfully, it's the first time I'm watching someone kiss and thinking it's totally romantic! Well what can I say.. this movie has truths and depths in it that is closer to a documentary but at the same time it's not. You'll get everything in this movie, it will break your heart and I promise it's worth the 3 hours' of your time. Enjoy!
A Beautiful Mind
Russel Crowe, Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly
I don't think theres really any need to mention just how good this movie is. This is the TRUE story of the mathematic genie that was diagnosed schizofreni but still managed the success he most definitely deserved by his talent. Theres many powerful, somewhat disturbing scenes that is painful to watch but as true and honest as if you were gonna experience it yourself. And I'm now not talking about the schizofreni-paranoia that usually comes along after watching this movie, because it really is the kind of movie to 'influence' and give you goosebumps afterwards. If you want to watch something orginial for once, this is the one.
Requiem Of A Dream Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly
Creepy weird insane freaky disturbing killing scenes that will get to you! This is probably the most disturbing movie out there; I even think I took a break from it 'cause it was just 'too much' for me. It's hard to explain exactly what is going on, it's something that has got to be seen with your own eyes and be judged from your own mind. Basically it's a 'drug'-movie that shows drugs in a way you've never seen it before. I know I sound all the way advertise-inspired but this is the real truth. Seriously, the movie feels like a drug itself. Watch it if you bare it.
